Rest day Friday 8th Oct
Saturday 9.00am met Nick at Clogh Head Car Park.
the plan was to run to Peel Tower.
I'd checked out the route on the OS map - worked out at about 15 miles.
Set off at a steady pace, felt pretty tough at the start, partcularl going over Musburry Heights.
When we got into the run felt fine. Got to Bull Hill in 55 mins, 5 mins slower than last weekend.
Set off towards the Tower.
Quite a substantial path to follow that took us to Pilgrims Cross and after about a mile and a half, 2 miles came to Peel Tower.
Just time for a snack and a drink then off we went for the run home.
The short run up Harcles Hill was quite tough. Once at Bull Hill Trig we went mainly down hill.
Nick did run the route entirely - no stops - Pretty good going.
Weather was fine although a little chilly! So much for the forcasters!
Watch says - 151 mins, Avg HR 138, Max 159, Cals 1628!!
Could knock quite a bit of time off this on my own, but thoroughly enjoyed the run - Fantastic morning!
Over half term I'm planning on doing a 20+ mile run, similar to tis route, but taking in Hog Low Pike and an additional part of the Rossendale Way.
Could make it even longer by running from home, down Pothouse lane, across Hasslingdon Old Rd to the Grane Rd etc. Endless!!
